Stressing over AP World this whole year might actually have been worth not doing this stupid research paper.

laurenncamille:

It’s almost degrading to do this. It’s like having someone assign you homework on logarithms, and then having someone assign you a worksheet on your times tables two years later. I think it’s ridiculous how we need to write a research paper when I can guarantee you I wrote a very proficient paper in 8th grade. Yes, middle school. It was seven full pages of writing and cited correctly and in a college format. By the way, I also can guarantee you that the majority of the sophomore class has not learned how to write a proper research paper or cite it correctly because our teachers just throw things at us and expect us to figure it out. If we were to write this, it would be smarter to do it thoroughly and have our teachers go through the assignment step by step and check in on us weekly to make sure we’ve kept up with it. It may sound childish but were in high school, and we don’t write research papers yet and everyone who didn’t have Swieck in 8th grade doesn’t have a clue. It’s sad. The education system SUCKS and I may be a spoiled brat for saying this but it’s so true. I feel bad for people who don’t have the privilege to take rigorous classes or have a teacher who actually loves what they do and teaches to the fullest of their ability. Or at least have an ability. I’m sorry, I just needed to rant. This is honestly just a waste of a good night’s rest. I’m not learning anything and I’m not happy doing this either. I don’t think I’m ever going to take a regular class again. Except for Health but that’s a graduation requirement. I can’t do it. I’ll claw my eyes out first.
